Who do you think you are?
Posted on March 31st, 2009 No commentsBeing clear in what you are saying is becoming a critical mission in our world. I have made clarity one of my missions this year. One of the causes of the world problems today is communication, clarity in what you say, how you say it, and being responsible for it. Using the correct tense in your writing and make sure you think about others before you write something. Lack of clarity leads people to assume and interpret what you mean, unless you can defend it, better be clear from the start, I have learned.
People are not you, some read emotionally, they are not in your brain and cannot get what you mean, unless well articulated or explained.
Of course languages, cultural differences, upbringings, education will play an essential role in this, we interpret and understand things differently, but I just think that trying to listen and collect lots of information before saying something will help us make a great progress in the years to come. Asking questions are wonderful; it helps clean up the misunderstood and assumptions. Curiosity is a sign of intelligence. Leaders must be accountable on what they say and do. People will only respect you if you keep your promise and commit to your words. Your words are who you are.
Have a good week…

How a positive attitude and thinking can change your business?
Posted on March 31st, 2009 No commentsIn this difficult time in the UK and around the globe, where the media is killing us, with the bad weather, Gordon Brown Economic meltdown, Gaza, the disaster in Australia and all the very bad news we are fed every day, we can see what is happening in our world, positive attitude and thinking are the two elements that will change the way we do business and help ourselves, other wise we will not cope.
Talking to a friend yesterday, she was telling me that she has more depressed clients coming into her Clinique than she ever seen before, in 10 years in business.
Our positive attitude towards every thing we do will bring the changes we need with our clients, in our families, businesses, relationships, social communities we belong, into our environment and into our world.
Our customers, friends, families, children can feel when we are negative. Negative thinking is trigged by bad feelings, lack of confidence, insecurity, tiredness, depression and sometimes anger. We can change it by interacting with others, taking ownership and responsibilities. We cannot immerse ourselves any more in the world of cynics, saboteurs and irresponsibility.
The more we interact the more we have opportunities in business. When you have a positive attitude, you attract more clients, more people and more friends; you can help them rethink about their own behaviour too.
One of the trainers yesterday said that, in these times, when we are down and cannot cope to think about 5 good happy moments in your life, take one that keep you going and make it your element of thinking. He said it’s really a personal thing.
After my training, I was revitalised, energised and more than ever willing to keep the momentum of Positiveness. A culture of success in an organisation can only be built when we all change our attitudes, work, share with one another and always remember ourselves that despite every thing we are going through in these times that we are very privileged! Let’s not think about what we cannot have or do, bu reajust our attitude to think positive.
