In this difficult time in the UK and around the globe, where the media is killing us, with the bad weather, Gordon Brown Economic meltdown, Gaza, the disaster in Australia and all the very bad news we are fed every day, we can see what is happening in our world, positive attitude and thinking are the two elements that will change the way we do business and help ourselves, other wise we will not cope.

Talking to a friend yesterday, she was telling me that she has more depressed clients coming into her Clinique than she ever seen before, in 10 years in business.

Our positive attitude towards every thing we do will bring the changes we need with our clients, in our families, businesses, relationships, social communities we belong, into our environment and into our world.

Our customers, friends, families, children can feel when we are negative. Negative thinking is trigged by bad feelings, lack of confidence, insecurity, tiredness, depression and sometimes anger. We can change it by interacting with others, taking ownership and responsibilities. We cannot immerse ourselves any more in the world of cynics, saboteurs and irresponsibility.

The more we interact the more we have opportunities in business. When you have a positive attitude, you attract more clients, more people and more friends; you can help them rethink about their own behaviour too.

One of the trainers yesterday said that, in these times, when we are down and cannot cope to think about 5 good happy moments in your life, take one that keep you going and make it your element of thinking. He said it’s really a personal thing.

After my training, I was revitalised, energised and more than ever willing to keep the momentum of Positiveness. A culture of success in an organisation can only be built when we all change our attitudes, work, share with one another and always remember ourselves that despite every thing we are going through in these times that we are very privileged! Let’s not think about what we cannot have or do, bu reajust our attitude to think positive.

I have been meeting people all around the world and I get fascinated when I meet people who are in a real Business meaning, they have goods to sell to consumers, government or other businesses. It also means that they have a market to sell into, a solid business plan, they have done their go to market strategy, and they know who they will sell to etc…

Now if you take the word Business etymologically it means or relates to the fact that you are busy either as a person or as a society as a whole by doing commercially viable or profitable works right? Indeed there are other kinds of value such as social value / societal value. Business can be without profit, as long as it is being done cost-effectively making best possible use of the inputs including the money in.

Considering we are in a very messed up financial climate, the US companies that are selling to Europe are in good shape and rubbing their hands as the Euro, the GBP and Dollar are all over the place, but the people who are trying to enter the Business world this year without understanding the pros and cons will really struggle. We all know if you can’t invoice someone then its not a business its a hobby.
Business people know that a significant asset in their net worth is the value in their network. Connectedness is effectiveness.

Networking sites can teach people to network more effectively but can’t really teach them how to run and be in a business!
